Notes: I changed the color of the coat to gray because I already had the perfect fabric at home and I didn't really wanted it to be canon so I could wear it around.

Fabrics: A really nice gray polyester blend fabric that I got for free, black silk velvet for the collar and black linning.

Pattern: For the basic pattern I used Butterick 3836. I modified it by gradually changing the hem line of the coat so it fell longer in back, adding the collar, and making the sleeves more bell shaped.

For the swirly design on front I first drew it on paper and pinned it to the fabric. I then sewed through all layers of paper and fabric, following the lines on the paper. Then all I had to do was tear the paper away. To make the swirly design look more 3D, I put quilt batting between the gray fabric and lining
