The costume design was originaly meant for Padmé,
but it was not approved so it was used for Sheltay instead.

Worn to Star Wars Celebration III and the Denver Starfest both in April 2005.

Fabric: I was lucky and found a similer fabric with raised bumps to the one used in the movie in the discount fabric section at my fabric store for $3 a yards. It's really soft and stretchy enough that could make the gloves from it.

Patterns: Butterick 6593. I just needed something with princess seams and went on from there working with a sheet mockup. Here's what the basic pattern looks like for the cape I came up with.

The Headpiece

Notes: For the headpiece I cut in half the long way a piece of toilet plumbing and wired it onto a rounded strip of aluminum. I then spraypainted the whole thing and glued velcro to the inside of the headpiece so it would stay on my head.
