The Skirt
~

Sizes and shapes of the skirt pieces. Hem the bottom of the skirt, the front drape and the top and bottom of the hip drape.

1. With the wrong side of the skirt and the right side of the hip drape together, stitch the top edges together gathering the skirt in the center, easing it in.

2. Gather the sides of the hip drape to the skirt pulling it up to 4 inches. Baste.

3. Fold the front drape in half, wrong side to wrong side, bringing the edges together in the inside of the edges of the skirt folded in half, right side to right side. Stitch. Turn right side out.

4. Gather the front drape at the very top and where the lower edge of hip drape ends. Pull the gatherings tight so they are 3 inches in width.

5. Cut a piece of fabric 4 inches by 6 inches. Fold the edges under and hand sew it down over the drapes on the skirt incasing the raw edges.
