Fabric: A lt blue and copper shot fabric I got lucky to find at a store near me called Allyn's. I bought 12 yards at $10.99/yd. The fabric photograghs awefully!

Construction notes:

Cuff/Collar Smocking: To do this I took a needle and thread and weaved it in and out about 1/8 of an inch apart; after I did a ton of these rows a pulled the thread up tight to fit my neck and arms.

Sleeve/Skirt Pleating: I don't have a photo of the pleating of the sleeves and the skirt, but here's what I did. First I sewed row after row after row of big loose stitches vertical on the panels about 1/2 inch apart. I then ironed along each of these rows like an accordian, pulled the stitches out and spray starch the whole thing. This of course meant that I had to go back and re-iron all the pleating because it caused them to fall out! If I was thinking I would have starched it first! LOL After that all I did was cartridge pleat the panels to the bodice by hand and add the beading to the hem of the collar and cuffs.
