Neckpiece

Photo of the real neckpiece. For more pics and info visit The Padawans Guide.

Neckpiece before I spray painted it.

Plastruct used for the vertical slats of the neckpiece. The kind I bought is rectangle and hollow.

Construction Notes: I cut seven 15in. strips of featherlyte boning and wrapped 24 gauge wire around them. I connected all the strips together by weaving wire vertically down and around the strips in eight different places. Using a Xacto blade I cut the Plastruct apart so that I only had the wide front and back of the tubing left. These pieces I glued on top of the neckpiece covering the wire that holds the srips together. After the plastic pieces had dried on the neckpiece I outlined them with fabric paint. Using wire I attacted hook and eyes to boths ends of three of the vertical strips to close up the back of the neckpiece. The whole neckpiece was then spay painted bronze with a light coat of gold over that. So my skin wouldn't be irritated with the spaypaint I lined the inside of the neckpiece with skin colored fabric which I glued on with Household Goop.
